Tidemark is designed with privacy at its core. We do not collect, store, or share any of your personal data. Your countdowns and settings stay on your device and in your own iCloud account.
1. Overview
Tidemark ("the App") is a countdown and deadline tracker developed by NexoLab — Igor Barkowski ("we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the App.
The short version: we don't collect your data. Tidemark has no backend servers, no analytics, no tracking, and no advertising.
2. Data We Collect
None. Tidemark does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on our servers. We have no servers — the App operates entirely on your device.
3. Data Stored on Your Device
All data you create in Tidemark (countdowns, categories, settings, custom backgrounds) is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data never leaves your device except through iCloud sync (see below).
4. iCloud Sync
If you have iCloud enabled on your device, Tidemark uses Apple's CloudKit to sync your countdowns across your devices. This sync is:
- Handled entirely by Apple's infrastructure
- Protected by your Apple ID and Apple's security measures
- Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy
- Not accessible to us in any way
We cannot see, access, or retrieve any data stored in your iCloud account.
5. Device Permissions
Tidemark may request the following permissions, all of which are optional:
- Calendar Access (read-only): Used solely to let you browse and import calendar events as countdowns. We do not modify, store, or transmit your calendar data.
- Notifications: Used to send local reminders about your countdowns. All notifications are scheduled locally on your device — no push notification servers are involved.
- Photo Library: Used only when you choose to add a custom background image to a countdown. Photos are processed and stored locally on your device.
6. Third-Party Services
Tidemark does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or tracking services. The App makes no network requests to any third-party servers.
7. Children's Privacy
Tidemark does not collect any data from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since we do not collect, store, or process any personal information, the App is safe for users of all ages.
8. Data Retention and Deletion
Since all data is stored on your device (and optionally in your iCloud account), you have full control over it. To delete all Tidemark data:
- Delete the App from your device to remove all local data
- To remove iCloud data, go to Settings > Apple ID > iCloud > Manage Storage and remove Tidemark data
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Since we don't collect your contact information, we encourage you to review this page periodically.
