Frequently Asked Questions
You need a Dynatrace environment (SaaS or Managed) and an API access token. In Dynatrace, go to Settings > Integration > Dynatrace API, create a token with the Read problems (v2), Read entities, and Read metrics scopes. Then enter your environment URL and token in DynaWatch during onboarding. You can also use a QR code for quick setup.
Required: Read problems (v2), Read entities, Read metrics, Read settings (v2). Optional: Write problems (v2) — needed only if you want to acknowledge, comment on, or close problems from DynaWatch. We recommend creating a dedicated token for DynaWatch with only the scopes you need.
DynaWatch supports two notification modes: Local notifications (free) poll your Dynatrace environment periodically and notify you of new problems. Server push notifications (Pro) use a Dynatrace webhook to deliver real-time alerts within seconds. To set up push, enable it in Settings > Notifications, copy the webhook URL, and add it as an Alerting Profile webhook in your Dynatrace environment.
Free includes: problem feed (list, filtering, search), problem detail (header, impact, root cause), problem actions (acknowledge, comment, close), local polling notifications, App Lock, multi-environment support, and Demo Mode. Pro adds: metric charts on problem detail, custom dashboards, entity browser, Home Screen widgets, and real-time server push notifications. All Pro features are unlocked free for 7 days after install.
No. DynaWatch is an independent third-party app developed by NexoLab. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Dynatrace LLC. DynaWatch uses the public Dynatrace API to connect to your environment.
Yes. Your API token is stored in the iOS Keychain (hardware-encrypted) and never leaves your device. All communication with Dynatrace happens directly between your device and your environment over HTTPS. We do not have access to your Dynatrace data. The push server only receives problem summaries for notification delivery — it does not store your credentials or monitoring data. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Yes. DynaWatch supports both Dynatrace SaaS and Dynatrace Managed environments. During onboarding, select "Managed" as the environment type and enter your cluster URL. The API paths are adjusted automatically.
You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID settings: Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions > DynaWatch Pro. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Your data (dashboards, widget configs) is preserved and becomes accessible again if you resubscribe.
All your data is stored locally on your device. To delete everything: (1) Disable push notifications in the app first — this removes your registration from our server. (2) Delete the app to remove all local data (environments, tokens, dashboards, preferences). We have no copies of your Dynatrace data. See our Privacy Policy for more details.
Please email us at support@dynawatch.app with a description of the issue, your iOS version, device model, and Dynatrace environment type (SaaS or Managed). Screenshots or screen recordings are very helpful. We typically respond within 24 hours.
