Terms of Use — Travelet

1. Description of the App

Travelet is an iOS application that helps users track personal travel expenses. The App allows you to create trips, log expenses manually or by scanning paper receipts, dictate expenses by voice, convert amounts between currencies, view a map of your spending, and review per-trip statistics.

Travelet does not require an account. Your data is stored on your device and synchronized across your iPhones via your iCloud.

2. Requirements

To use the App, you need:

• An iOS device running iOS 17.0 or later.
• An active internet connection for AI receipt scan, voice expense parsing, and live currency conversion.
• An iCloud account signed in on your device (optional, required only for cross-device sync).
• Camera permission (for receipt scan) and microphone permission (for voice input), granted in iOS Settings or in the App when prompted.

3. Your Data

You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the data you log in Travelet, including amounts, dates, currencies, and categories. Travelet's AI receipt and voice features are provided as conveniences and may produce incorrect results. You should review every entry before saving and editing afterwards if needed. We are not responsible for any decisions you make based on data displayed in the App.

4. In-App Purchases

Travelet is free to download and use with manual expense entry. AI-powered features (receipt scan, voice parsing) are subject to a per-device monthly quota of free scans. Additional scan packs are available as in-app purchases through the Apple App Store and are subject to Apple's terms and refund policies.

• Scan packs are one-time purchases (consumables) — they are not subscriptions.
• Purchased scan credits are tied to the device on which they were bought; they are not synced across devices.
• Refund requests must be directed to Apple via your Apple ID purchase history.

By making an in-app purchase, you also agree to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which applies to all licensed applications on the App Store and is available at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and Apple's EULA regarding the in-app purchase itself, Apple's EULA prevails for the specific clauses it covers.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to:

• Use the App only for personal, non-commercial expense tracking.
• Not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App.
• Not use the App to violate any applicable laws or regulations.
• Not attempt to interfere with the operation of the Travelet backend service or its infrastructure (including, without limitation, attempting to bypass scan quotas).
• Not submit prompts, images, or audio that are illegal, abusive, or designed to elicit harmful content from the underlying AI providers.

6. AI-Powered Features

Travelet uses third-party large language models (LLMs) to extract structured data from receipt images and voice transcripts. By using these features you agree that:

• Receipt images and voice transcripts are forwarded to our backend proxy and onward to the LLM provider for processing. They are not retained beyond the immediate request.
• AI output is best-effort and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or fabricated. Always review extracted values before saving.
• The AI service is provided on a best-effort basis and may experience downtime, model changes, or quota changes without notice.

7. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, graphics, and documentation, is the intellectual property of NexoLab Igor Barkowski and is protected by copyright law. All rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved.

All other trademarks (Apple, App Store, iCloud, Anthropic, Claude, Google Gemini, frankfurter.app) are the property of their respective owners.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

• The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
• AI-extracted receipt or voice data will be accurate or complete.
• Currency conversion rates from third-party services will be accurate or up-to-date.
• iCloud sync will deliver data without delay or loss — sync reliability depends on Apple.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL NEXOLAB IGOR BARKOWSKI BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO INCORRECT EXPENSE DATA, MISSED FINANCIAL DECISIONS, INACCURATE BUDGETS, LOSS OF DATA, OR LOSS OF REVENUE.

Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App or any in-app purchase in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless NexoLab Igor Barkowski from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

11. Third-Party Services

The App interacts with third-party services governed by their own terms:

• Apple — your use of the App Store, iCloud, in-app purchases, and Apple frameworks (Speech, Camera, MapKit) is subject to Apple's terms and conditions.
• Anthropic / Google Gemini — receipt and voice processing is performed by these LLM providers via our backend proxy, subject to their commercial API terms.
• frankfurter.app — currency exchange rates are fetched directly from this public ECB-rate service.

We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of any third-party services.

12. Termination

We may discontinue the App or the backend AI proxy at any time. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. Upon termination, your local data is removed when you uninstall the App from all your devices and disable iCloud for Travelet.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Poland, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
